What does 5Q mean?
Our name – 5 Quarters – embodies who we are and how we think. 5Q team members strive to go above and beyond in servicing our clients and we don’t stop at giving 110% – we go for 125% – or five quarters. As every public company executive knows, Investor Relations goes beyond just the four quarters of financial reporting, and the team at 5Q helps our clients elevate their capital markets and communications strategies.
What sets 5Q apart from other firms?
Back in April of 2013, we set out to ‘break the mold’ on traditional IR and communications advisory models. Rather than force clients to ‘lock-in’ to high-priced monthly retainers for year-long terms (a common occurrence), we offer clients ultimate flexibility in how they structure arrangements. With 5Q, companies can choose to be billed hourly on an ad hoc basis, set a ‘draw-down’ retainer model that expands with increased usage, or ‘set-it-and-forget-it’ with a targeted number of hours monthly – which are then calibrated up or down on a quarterly basis depending on activity levels. Our team collectively brings a depth and breadth of experience that we believe is unmatched in our industry. In addition to decades of hands-on experience developing and executing IR strategies for public companies across sectors, we also bring extensive knowledge gained from working at TSX and TSX Venture Exchange in developing business globally. This affords us a deep understanding of listings and regulatory requirements, as well as an expanded network of contacts within the legal, investment banking, corporate finance and global exchange realms.

5Q has evolved from a sole practitioner at start-up, to an independent, nationwide firm whose team members service clients from our stations across Canada (Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver and Hamilton, ON).
